SA&A Announces unique Public Sector, Policy & Political Communications Course for July 18, 2024

June 30, 2024: Sola Abulu & Associates (SA&A) has announced that enrolment is now open for the 1st and only cohort in 2024 of the CPDSO-Accredited Public Sector, Policy and Political Communications Course designed to enable effective public sector administration, policy implementation and political engagement through the strategic and ethical use of communication. The course is one of 5 internationally accredited courses launched by SA&A in 2024.

The need to communicate proactively and engage more robustly has become a critical success factor for public sector holders and policy makers in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa as a whole; as the world becomes more engaged around public governance and political leadership issues. Citizens are progressively beginning to exert themselves as a force to be reckoned with in public policy implementation, governance and politics.

It is therefore important for public sector leaders and professionals to begin to learn how to communicate and engage effectively with various segments of their populace in fulfilment of their public sector vision and agenda.

This course aims to equip practitioners and leaders with the skills and knowledge to rise effectively to the challenge of public sector communications in the 21st century. This cohort is the 1st and only one in 2024, so we encourage prospective particpants to endeavour to attend.

 

Who Can Attend?

The course is designed for Public Relations, Media, Communications, Campaign or
Stakeholder Relations Leaders, Press Officers, Social Media Advisers, Communications Consultants or Practitioners working in the political, public sector or public policymaking/implementation
context in Nigeria or anywhere within the African continent.

The course will aim to do the following:

 Show participants how to develop and deliver an effective Media, Public Relations and
Communications Strategy for public sector agencies, public policy
institutions, public office holders and political leaders with positive and
measurable results.
 Introduce participants to the Strategic Communications and Stakeholder
Management Frameworks and show how to integrate to achieve desired
outcomes in external communication, media management, public discourse,
issues, and crisis management.
 Showcase best practises from Nigeria and Africa to teach how to
leverage on contemporary digital and storytelling practises to effectively
communicate with diverse audiences across the target population.
 Demonstrate the importance of having a structured approach to
stakeholder management and ensuring that public sector communication is
tailored, targeted and de-risked for maximum results
 Show how to bridge the gap between government and citizenry through
strategic communications and demonstrate how to mitigate issues and crisis
and protect brand and reputation.
 Teach how to develop impactful messaging that enables policy
compliance, builds trust with the citizenry, and enables achievement of
desired outcomes without damaging institutional or individual reputation.
 Teach the importance and relevance of internal communications to
public sector agencies and institutions and how leaders can build a
communication structure that enables organizational effectiveness.
 Show the importance of regarding citizens as a key stakeholder and
illustrate the win-win value and benefit of having a citizen-centred
communications approach to public sector administration, service delivery
and political engagement.

The course is scheduled to hold online from 9AM to 4PM West African Time and will be facilitated by Sola Abulu. Participants can expect to receive a CPDSO- Accredited Course Completion Certificate on completion of the course and will have the opportunity to be part of a post-course Group coaching session on request.
